My Story

Ellen Tendean stands as a prominent figure in the field of etiquette and personal development coaching in Indonesia. With over 30 years of experience, she has earned her reputation as a leading expert in etiquette, table manners, and professional development.

Her journey began in Tarakan, a city in North Kalimantan, where she spent her childhood dreaming of becoming a fashion model. She moved to Jakarta to study Civil Engineering at Universitas Indonesia. During her studies, Ellen pursued modeling under the guidance of Rudy Wowor, a distinguished actor, dancer, and choreographer. Her modeling career flourished in the 70s and 80s, where she worked with top Indonesian designers and participated in fashion shows across major cities such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, London, Taipei, and Tokyo.

Becoming one of the most influential voices in etiquette and personal development industry.

After graduating in the mid-1980s, Ellen briefly worked as an engineering consultant while teaching private sessions on modeling and grooming in Jakarta and Balikpapan. In the early 1990s, she joined John Robert Powers as a coach and trainer at the invitation of Mien R. Uno, a legendary figure in the field of education and etiquette. Since the beginning, Ellen taught a variety of subjects, including modeling, etiquettes, personality, grooming, table manners, and communication. She continued her coaching career at Duta Bangsa and went independent in the early 2010s.

In 2024, she founded the Ellen Tendean Training Center to offer bespoke training programs, including Corporate In-House Training, Seminars & Speaking Engagements, and Private Training. Her training programs have impacted various industries, including oil and gas, banking, automotive, education, and government. Ellen’s dedication to etiquette and personal development continues to inspire individuals and organizations across Indonesia, helping them navigate social and professional settings with grace and poise. She also addresses specific themes such as personality development, public speaking, and professional appearance.

Her achievements include holding a MURI record for “Peragaan Busana Dengan Peragawati Profesional Usia Di Atas Setengah Abad” and receiving a YouTube Silver Creator Award for surpassing 100,000 subscribers. Her digital presence is significant, with more than 130K YouTube subscribers, 200K Instagram followers, and 230K TikTok followers. Ellen has been featured by prominent news outlets like Detik.com and Jawa Pos.
